I required a disk caddy for my Thinkpad T400 and quickly assembled one. It appears to work, at least with the Samsung 850 Pro SSD that I needed to fit snugly. Following the design process (and referencing SSD datasheets for dimensions), I gained insight into why Lenovo positioned the disk upside down in the T410 - the thickness of disks is not strictly defined.
