Thinkpad power plug holder

The power plug for my T61 ThinkPad snapped at the point where the wire meets the plug, just like it always does. Now I'm stuck wondering what to do next. One option is to print out a new one. Instructions are as follows: Cut through the wire that connects to the plug - there's no going back now. Next, add some heat shrink tubing along the wire to get a sleek finish. Take scissors or a craft knife and cut away all the plastic until only the bare plug remains. Then, solder the clean wires to the plug, making sure to match up the polarities correctly. After that, print out the replacement part. If you need to tidy up the opening, use a 5/16" drill bit to remove any stray plastic bits. Check the fit of the new plug and if it fits properly, apply a small drop of glue to the inside edge of the plug. Then push the plug into place until it's set. Once that's done, use heat shrink tubing to give the finished product a nice finish - just be careful not to melt the ABS plastic.
