Here's an easy-to-assemble crossbow expansion kit. You can use this crossbow with your hand or attach it to a fire machine. To get even more creative, try building your own custom version! With the new pieces included in this set, you'll be able to make some very long shots. However, one thing that I didn't include was creating a machine box with colorful details. It's up to you to create your crossbow box in whatever style you like, which will also help develop your imagination. You can combine the different pieces in various ways to create really interesting designs. The only limit is your imagination! If some parts don't look exactly the same as those on the downloadable .STL files, it's because I had already printed them before realizing that this contest doesn't allow for printing such large items. However, you can still get an idea of how they're put together by checking out some pictures. Also note that I replaced a long wooden rod with one made of plastic in my prototype. However, you won't need to do the same since you can just print it at home using your 3D printer. All parts from this design fit inside a space measuring 10 x 10 x 12.5 cm. PIECES YOU NEED: (Download these from ThinkFun's official sets) * A rod that is 5.5 inches long (2 pieces) * Two rods each measuring 7 inches in length * Two 2-inch-long rods * Seven 1.5-inch rods * Large connector plates made by ThinkFun (4 pieces) * Extra-long connector plates (2 pieces) * Hub caps for securing the parts together (26 pieces) * A hole punch (1 piece) * The letters C, D (in version one), E, and F are needed to complete this project. Additional rubber-like elastic is required. The final items on the list include Y-shaped and X-shaped rods, along with rod-shaped hubs, and CC (circle)-shaped connector pieces in combination with rods and the previously-mentioned large hub caps. Printer: Rafts: You can use them or not. Supports: Don't worry about them since we don't need to use them at all Resolution: I used 100 but you are free to choose what ever one you prefer CROSSBOW ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS: Here is the crossbow in two different types of ways. **Type one, hand held:** STEP ONE: Attach two 12 hole "Extra long" connector pieces together using a "X" piece with 4 sticks (or rods) to secure them and use some large hub caps for safety reasons STEP TWO: Next take two new rod-shaped Y-shaped and X-shaped "J" piece shaped, add that with some extra stick-rods, attach your new created hub pieces so you don't slip off. Then simply place an extra-long-elastic into each of those cross bow piece connectors in between and on top. Then place another rubber-like string (with more power) onto it so you get an amazing and fun cross-bow experience with your hands held around. Take a long rod shaped and make two holes to attach it to the other end then add a big long "rubber string" in between that you pulled off to hold all parts together by stretching, making a strong yet safe to use rubber string which gives power for those nice hits when fired, after pulling on one of those special ends (Y-shapped) with your hands... BAMB, The rubber hits and the projectile fly's right over. **Type 2 - Hand-Free Crossbow.** You can use this hand free machine just place a metal spring with extra long sticks for it to keep all of these in motion so no slipping or any sort will be present for all to experience fun! Take the big piece called 'J' place that end on one long stick that goes across from the rubber, 2 sticks which each fit inside this special hub shaped and attached two large hub-caps with it connected on the sides to hold up. Place elastic in both side on top of a flat bottom connector rod which you need and have one more Y-shaped item attached between this connector which holds all things to pull that string. After doing so make your way up 4 holes so there is enough power that no other moving objects get harmed because that thing was really going like crazy then do exactly the same as we did at first for it with another long rod piece holding everything by pulling one or both and place on rubber to give all fun from shooting arrows using cross-bow...BAM
