Normally, pens serve as tools for people to express their original thoughts and ideas. With thINK, the roles are reversed: you are merely the tool; this pen will do the thinking for you. Simply glide your hand over the paper and allow the words to spill from thINK onto the page. There are two variations, both using removable and interchangeable cartridges to store the media. The first comes with a predetermined set of sentences or phrases, which adhere immediately to the writing surface; the second contains a set of small tablets, each printed with a single word, that emerge from the pen in random order and can be rearranged once they have exited the device. thINK offers an opportunity to consider what originality really is, and to rethink what it means to think and create.
