Thingiverse Tag Holder
thingiverse
I was searching for a "Tag Holder" to secure the creative commons attribution tag and couldn't find one, so I decided to create one myself. Using Tinkercad from Autodesk, I designed The Tag Holder, which can be used as is or modified with 3mm holes in the back tabs to add a stand, making it easier to display at maker fairs and other events. I always wondered why nobody had created one before, especially since displaying a tag for every print made on Thingiverse is a standard practice. A well-designed tag holder not only adds professionalism but also allows others to easily access the exact Thingiverse page where they can find the item. This is what 3D printing is all about – helping each other. To attach the paper to the plastic, I used Scotch Wrinkle-Free Glue Stick, but any glue stick should work. Print Settings: Printer: MAKERFRONT i3PRO-XL Rafts: Yes Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 80% Notes: To achieve the best results, print The Tag Holder face down and use Elmer's glue on glass. Post-Printing: I also used acetone smoothing to give it a polished finish. I place some acetone in a plastic box with paper towels inside, create a cardboard holder for the part, bend a coat hanger into handles, cover the cardboard with aluminum foil, and secure it with duct tape. After placing the part in the hot sun for two hours, the result is a shiny surface that works perfectly!
