Thingiverse Car
thingiverse
This last-place finisher took home the trophy in the 2019 ERRF 3D printed Derby Car race. It could be a fun little toy for your desk or something you enjoy crashing and breaking when Thingiverse is crashing and breaking. The hamster wheel spins when the wheels move using a simple gear system. Glue is recommended on some of the inserts like the Thingiverse logo, license plate, and thingiverse.com insert, plus on the wheels or the car body depending on how fast you want it to go (it broke apart when I tested it on a steep track because they were just held on by inserting them - overall it fits well but glue is probably a good idea for some of the stuff.) Use color change option for stuff like the gear wheels and hamster wheel, logo and inserts to have it look like the picture. Here are a few videos of the thing losing multiple races at ERRF (note: the hamster only spins upside down when the car travels fairly quickly....most of the time it stays parallel with the ground to look like its actually running on the wheel): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP5TfWY_12U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyLro3GYnvI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQbXbsC2Lhs Interesting Thingiverse Theory From Prusa Guy @23:47: https://youtu.be/jh2tMyOjG1I?t=1477 Remixes from originals: Hamster and Hamster Wheel: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3142344 Potato Driver: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2871770
