I adore Thing9 by Zomboe due to its innovative design separated into different prints. This feature enables me to have greater control over settings for each part, resulting in enhanced print quality overall. Additionally, I can experiment with various designs without the need for a full reprint. Another advantage is that post-processing becomes much easier, and there are fewer failed prints due to tower instability near completion. Furthermore, I can print the curve as a hollow tube and insert an LED inside, transforming it into a nightlight. To achieve a clean print, I recommend reading this post for tips on maintaining a sticky print bed: gruelabs.blogspot.com. For optimal results, activate Cool and/or use a cooling fan at the nozzle during printing to prevent curling or droopy layers. If you're printing two curves simultaneously using multiply, turn on the fan after the legs meet for better lamination. To create a hollow print, set Extra Shells on Base to 0, Extra Shells Sparse Layers to 2, Extra Shells Alternate Solid Layers to 2, and Infill to 0. Uncheck "Infill in direction of Bridges" during In Carve. The base with its gradual slope requires Cool and/or fan activation at the nozzle for improved appearance. For assembling Thing9, slide the larger leg through the tower's hole and secure it in place. Finally, attach the tower and admire your work – a testament to Zomboe's creativity, your printer's capabilities, and your skills!
