Thing-O-Matic: Removable ABP mod

This is a straightforward modification to the ABP, making it detachable. We can then quickly switch to alternative build-platforms better suited to our current tool-head or object to print. For example, we could use HBP for tall objects, a vice for milling and "steptrusion," or a clamp for drawing. Print 2 of these modifications. Loosen the bolts on the acrylic sides of the platform. Insert these parts into the front and back. (It is intentionally 2mm wider than the original one, so it slides off easily later.) Drill holes for one bolt per side. Remove the original bolts and insert them into their new location. Cut the acrylic around the original bolt hole. To remove the ABP, simply remove the two bolts per side on the horizontal part and pull the ABP up. The following video explains how to insert these modifications: Blog post: http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.com/2011/05/thing-o-matic-removable-abp-mod.html You can use this part to design new build platforms. I am considering designing a vice-like platform for PCB milling.
