Thing-o-matic belt tension clips how to
thingiverse
These added belt tensioning clips keep the belts running perfectly straight and you can see exactly how much tension is being applied to the belt. To incorporate these onto a Thing-o-matic: remove the original holes where the moving side of the belt goes through / Optionally enlarge the square opening - for laser users, revised templates for the thing-o-matic are available online. THE KEY TO GETTING THIS TO WORK PROPERLY is making sure the belt is levelled so that it runs straight. In the original Thing-o-matic design, the plastic timing belt pulley wheel could move up and down along a screw; avoid this movement by levelling the plastic wheel with shims both above and below it. For proper tensioning, you'll need a motor-belt-tensioner on the opposite side, similar to this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:305766
