Thin Wood Veneer - Interactive Build Plate Levelling - Print Aid

thingiverse

Using www.fused3d.com Cherry Wood Filament (LAYWOO-D3 1.75mm), which is PLA compatible and requires no heated bed, whpthomas's thing from Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:39430) has been printed. The print was done on a Replicator2, with the bed leveled using the leveler thing in combination with whpthomas's Rep2 ReplicatorG 200 micron profile. The resulting print is .1mm thick and semi-transparent, showcasing the bamboo flooring underneath. The veneer sheet has a slightly rough texture, similar to fingerprints. To achieve the perfect bed level for this print, if you can see the tape/acrylic through the veneer, it's too low, and if the print stops sticking (strings), it's too high. Additionally, editing the anchor wait time to P6000 instead of 2000 seems to help with the start of a build by ensuring smooth wood flow.
