Thin Water Film Rack
grabcad
Hello everybody! This is my "thin water film" rack, you can place it in the garden to grow some vegetables, and herbs. You only need to add a pump that will pump enough water to get all the way back to the tank. Make sure south is perpendicular to the pipes. Against a wall where it wont cast a shadow on other plants would be the best place. Or you can stack these in rows. Or make a really long lower one, like you sometimes see in videos. I added a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AbxnWiVTH8) to the file, the guy in it has some fine other options for the net cups. You will get the idea right if you look at the picture files I added to the upload. There are 16mm ID (inner diameter) rubber grommets to seal off the 16mm pipes, the 16 mm pipes are fitted onto the garden hose. I dont have the 16mm pipe laying around, but basically you use that 16mm t piece, and glue some piece of pipe to it, stick it through the rubber grommet, and attach the hose. So use the "hose piece" assembly for that, and you should be fine. Its a tight fit, but you may want to use tie wraps or hose clamps. Its basically a stormwater pvc pipe with holes bored into it with a hole saw, so it can fit the net pots. Some parts may look so so, but its an old drawing i did this a long time ago.Use water with pH 5.5, and a light nutrient solution. Be gentile with nutrients in hydro-, aero-, and aquaponics. Its better to give to little than to much. However you need to feed because there are no nutrients in the water. There isnt even a "buffer", so you need to know what is up with your water.
