Inspired by others, this project features a space-saving TARDIS design with optimized interior space. Electronics are added for enhanced functionality; when lifted, a light and sound chip plays the theme song. The model was designed in Cinema 4D and scaled down to fit a Thing-O-Matic printer. Printing took just over two hours. Components include a SOMO-14D Sound Module, 4001 Diodes, a sub-microswitch, 680 ohm resistor, 100uF 10v capacitors, a 78L05 regulator, a blinking white LED, a scavenged 1" diameter speaker, and a 9v battery clip. The total cost amounts to $25, excluding the SD card. Finally, a placard and signs for the top were printed on a laser printer at 1200dpi and attached with double-sided tape. A video of the finished product was uploaded to YouTube. Wiring diagram and parts list were updated on 12-23-2013.
