See the newest version of this project here! (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2051675) This is an iPhone 6 case with five hex sockets located at various places around the phone. Each side has a thickness of two millimeters, and the back of the phone case is approximately four millimeters thick. The two socket holes in the center of the case are one-quarter and five-sixteenths inch in diameter, while the three at the bottom are one-quarter, five-sixteenths, and three-eighths inch in diameter. I designed this project using Inventor, which has a unit system based on millimeters. Cura or other slicing software naturally use millimeters as well, so when you input the STL file, it will be very small. To scale it correctly, use the following dimensions: the maximum X dimension is 70.97 and the maximum Y dimension is 142.14. However, the depth of the case needs adjustment, and there's no mechanism holding the phone in place except possibly friction. Using a Ninjaflex or Semiflex material and decreasing the X/Y dimensions by .25-.5 millimeters may provide enough friction to hold the phone, but this has not been tested. Note: There are two different STL files available for this model. One does not have fillets applied to the edges of the case, while the other has a 0.75mm fillet applied to much of the outer edges. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: High Infill: 20% Notes: This design could be completed by applying an adhesive to the back of the case and attaching it to a phone. One idea is to place tape on the back of the phone, then glue the case to the tape. Post-Printing Post-printing results were very impressive. The print quality was extremely high with minimal warping, stringing, or peeling on the product. How I Designed This I used Autodesk Inventor to create this design and referenced two schematics found on Google Images that can be accessed here: (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/arr8215uvqb5ui5/AAAcxp7K8Z7l7q_B4LfcLZZ9a?dl=0). These images served as the foundation for all subsequent designs.
