Thin Film Thickness Gauge

Thin Film Thickness Gauge

thingiverse

This is an innovative thin film thickness gauge that measures up to 48 mil in precise 3 mil increments. Use it to determine how thick the paint or coating has been applied by lightly pressing it onto the surface and taking note of the shortest finger that remains wet. Print Settings: Rafts: Set to yes for secure printing. Supports: Disabled for smooth layer adhesion. Resolution: Configured at 0.1 mm for detailed prints. Infill: Optimized at 100% for added strength. Notes: This design is specifically tailored for a 0.5mm extrusion width, but the accuracy remains unaffected when using other widths. To achieve square corners and sides, I highly recommend printing with the highest Z resolution available on your printer. By setting rafts to yes and breaking away only under the fingers, even slight surface irregularities can be overcome, eliminating the need for rafts altogether in extremely flat prints with precise z-height calibration.
