Thin Cylinder for Costume Curlers
cults3d
My little girl looked up at me with big eyes and asked, "Mommy, can you print me some curlers?" It was the night before the 100th day of school, when kids dress up like they're 100 years old. I had the printer off for the night, but my daughter's plea was impossible to resist. I quickly searched Cults3D and Thingiverse, but couldn't find what I wanted, so I opened Mathematica and whipped up a ParametricPlot3D of a circular cylinder in no time. Exporting it as an STL file took even less time than waiting for Thingiverse to finish its search. In the morning, we got creative with bobby pins and made a mess of my daughter's hair. With her new curly hairstyle, she was ready to show off her elderly woman costume and impress everyone at school.
