Thin-butted Axe

myminifactory

Polished, thin-butted flint axe from Hallsberg parish, Närke. Thin-butted axes are primarily associated with the Funnel Beaker Culture and date back to the Early Neolithic and Middle Neolithic A periods, approximately 3700-3200 BC. These versatile tools were designed for cutting trees or other wooden elements, making them essential working axes of their time. Archaeologists commonly find these axes in megalithic tombs or deliberately deposited sites. 3D scanning expertise by Xenter 3D technician Midori Åstrand This object was digitally recreated by Historiska, The Swedish History Museum
