This axe originated in Hallberg parish, Närke, where it was unearthed. Axes with thin butts are predominantly associated with the Funnel Beaker Culture and date back to the early Neolithic era through the Middle Neolithic A period, approximately 3700-3200 BC. The primary function of these axes was as working tools for cutting trees or other wooden components. They were commonly discovered in megalithic tombs or deliberate depositions. This object had not undergone polishing, leaving visible marks from knapping on all sides. Cortex is noticeable on both the butt and surface. The scanning process was conducted by Agnes Norman using an EVA scanner. The 3D reconstruction was handled by Xenter's technician.
