Thin Blue Line
thingiverse
Design in Fusion 360 and printed using the MK3 MMU 2.0 I created this flag model according to specs, following applicable rules and ordinances for flag design and size. So naturally, this model is drawn to scale. Sliced in Slic3r Prusa Edition. To import the model correctly, select an STL file and import it, right-click on that imported model, and click the settings button in the sub-menu. Once the new window opens, click the load model button and select the remaining parts, then import them. The slicer will automatically place them in the correct locations, and you can assign individual bodies to individual extruders. Some slicers may auto-size the flag to maximum bed size, while others won't. Slic3r Prusa Edition will automatically scale the model to 18% of its original size; I printed this one shown here at 10% size. At 100%, the flag is approximately 54 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 4 inches thick. Adjust the scale accordingly and carefully. I salute our men in uniform and greatly appreciate their sacrifices on a daily basis, so I created this MMU model in their honor. May have to adjust extrusion width and layer height for the first layers to get all segments to butt against each other as if it were a single piece design. In my design, I interconnected the Union and corresponding stripes inside the model to make one body for all black parts. I followed the same procedure for the Stars and white stripes, leaving the Blue line as its own separate body. As this model prints, you'll see how I interconnected the body parts to allow for reducing individual parts from around 64 to just three. I haven't tried it yet, but I might recommend printing at the finest detail your printer can handle. When scaled down, the stars shrink, and at .2 layer height, they will be too small to fill in completely, as evident from my photos. Model also has the ability to become a Thin Red Line Firefighters, Thin Green Line Border Patrol, Park Rangers, Game Wardens (Federal Agents), Thin White Line EMS Officials **working on modeling**, Thin Red Line Registered Nurses **working on modeling**, Thin Yellow Line Tow Truck Drivers, Security Guards, Loss Prevention, Thin Gold Line Dispatchers, Thin Orange Line Search and Rescue personnel, Thin Gray (Silver) Line Correctional Officers. ALSO: Military representations of above Thin Blue Line Air Force and Navy, Thin Red Line Coast Guard and Marines, Thin Green Line Army and the Military Police, Thin White Line National Guard Members and All Veterans. Please remember to honor our fallen and don't forget without them, we would have nothing. **please feel free to leave a tip if you like the models. more are coming soon.**
