When tightening the belt, the outer casing cracked as soon as the holes were drilled. This might be due to my own subpar layer adhesion, but I've decided to create a thicker casing anyway. The black foam in the photo helps keep the knob from rattling against the case, although a spring would be a much more refined solution to this issue.
