The print pictured was removed from the printer and filled with water, showcasing its ability to withstand submersion. It was printed using ABS plastic with a precise layer height of 0.3 mm and 25% infill density. I encountered difficulties with the original design's thin walls, so I added 4 mm thick side walls and a sturdy 5 mm base to improve its structural integrity. The modified design features slightly taller side walls, creating a small rim around the top edge that prevents water from spilling over when filling it up. Although adding extra thickness might have been excessive, the revised model prints flawlessly and remains leak-free - unless it's handled roughly while being removed from the print bed. In such cases, a quick coat of plasti dip can provide a reliable seal. I'd like to express my gratitude to the original designer for their exceptional work! Their design is flawless in every aspect, and I simply needed to adapt it to meet the unique needs of my printer. Noticing that others had encountered similar issues, I thought this modified version might prove helpful to fellow users. This is my first-ever remix attempt - I've created models before but never attempted to enhance or rework a finished design. My primary concern was how the old and new layers would interact, fearing they might detach when removing the print from the bed. Fortunately, that didn't happen! The base took a couple of attempts to perfect due to wrinkling issues. To preserve the beauty of the original Romanesque style drain at the bottom, I incorporated it into the added base. My focus was on functionality rather than aesthetics, and as a result, there are some exterior corners that might be visually jarring for those with perfectionist tendencies. Next time, I'll ensure symmetry is just as precise as functionality. Everything was designed using XYZmaker software and printed on an XYZ printer without any slicing or layering issues during multiple runs. I hope this revised model prints well for everyone!
