(https://www.thingiverse.com/Rubiks_Cubist/about) This is an iPhone 6 case with five hex sockets located at various places around the phone's perimeter. Each side is 3 mm thick, and the back of the phone case is about 10 mm thick. The two center sockets are 1/4 and 5/16 in., while the three at the bottom are 1/4, 5/16, and 3/8 in. I made this design in Autodesk Inventor, which has a unit of millimeters. Cura and other slicing software naturally use millimeters as well, so when you import the STL file, it will be very small. To scale it correctly, use the following dimensions: The maximum X dimension is 72.97 mm, and the maximum Y dimension is 144.14 mm. However, there are some issues with this design. The depth of the case is not correct, and there is no mechanism to hold the phone in place other than friction. Using a ninjaflex or semiflex material and decreasing the X/Y dimensions by .25-.5 mm may provide enough friction to keep the phone secure, but this has not been tested. See my page for further iterations of this design. Post-Printing This design printed semi-well, but it has a lot of pulling and compression on the bottom side due to peeling during the printing process. I believe this was caused by the thickness of the case, which I corrected in the next iteration. This print was just a test to see if I made the camera hole big enough for the image not to be blocked or have plastic on the fringes of the picture. I accidentally printed this model about 5% too large because I didn't input the correct dimensions into Cura when slicing, so the one in this picture is closer to the size of an iPhone 6 Plus case. How I Designed This I used Autodesk Inventor to make this design and two schematics that I found on Google Images. These images can be found here: (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/arr8215uvqb5ui5/AAAcxp7K8Z7l7q_B4LfcLZZ9a?dl=0) These images were used for all designs moving forward as well.
