Thick iPhone 4 Case
thingiverse
The original 3D model for this project (#25612) experienced issues when printing with a 0.35mm nozzle and slic3r software, specifically in regards to hollow, weak walls. To resolve these problems, I increased wall thickness to 3mm, added extra lip to the top of the case, and included support legs beneath the lip for successful iPhone 4 compatibility. This solution has worked well for me and I hope it helps my open-source hardware community. For design modifications, I use Google SketchUp, exporting files through a SketchUp plugin. These models are then imported to Netfabb Studio's program for STL repair before slicing with an infill rate of .7-.95. After printing, cleanup is done with a jeweler's file.
