Hard mounting gives better performance and I would highly recommend it over soft mounting on any gels or TPU.2.5mm carbon is good. You will need to countersink the 8 holes that attach to the standoffs, and then use M4 press nuts that are meant for a 5.4mm hole to attach a KDCM or DAC mount.
