My Thetford cassette failed, so I tracked the issue back to a part that had broken under the pressure. After several attempts at fabricating a replacement, I finally succeeded with 3 shells and an infill percentage of 20%, although in retrospect it probably wasn't necessary. My roof and floor thickness is set at 1mm. I have also included four 10mm towers around the part to slow down the printing process and minimize warping. It might not be crucial for prints made with PLA, but since I typically use ABS, I take this extra precaution. UPDATES: Using alcohol during print operations has now led me to suspect it is a major contributor to the failures I've experienced so far. The weakness appears to lie at the intersection between one of these towers and the larger central component of the Thetford cassette part. In response, I have made some significant changes to the design, upping the infill to 100% if warping can be avoided. Furthermore, slowing down print operations as much as possible will also help, especially at 0.35x on my Sailfish printer. With this updated version, known as v6, the Thetford cassette's internal workings seem to be more solidly built than before. Now it's just a matter of waiting and observing whether these adjustments can keep it functioning for a long time. I have a spare unit printing and plan to share pictures once that part is completed.
