Thermostat Servo Cover
thingiverse
I wanted to install a smart thermostat in my house to save on heating bills, but renting the place meant I had to think twice about messing with the electric system. The heating system is line voltage, so replacing the thermostat wasn't exactly the best idea. So, what's a better excuse than to automate the thermostat that's already there? This model replicates the cover for the thermostat, but with mounts for a servo instead. An adapter connects the servo to the thermostat axle, and then you can connect it to an ESP8266 board. From there, you can control the servo remotely from the internet. I used an SG92R servo, a NodeMCU ESP8266 board, and a DHT22 for real-time temperature data.
