Thermos Lid Replacement
thingiverse
Kids FooGo thermos lid cracked from a thermos bought back in 2010. I designed a replacement part that functions as the original. It seals the straw and the pressure hole and stays latched. Might not fit new thermos designs. I printed several versions to make the latch work properly. The top has a 6 degree slope so you can set your CAM software properly to make it flat. I had to create version two because the fit of the original was acceptable but not as good as I would have liked. So I messed with the latch and made it tighter and slightly stronger. I just tweaked it and really like the new fit. Some straws leaked when in use, so I found my air hole block was in the wrong location. It's been fixed now in version three, and all seems well with two different straws. I've got all the kinks worked out. I used an XActo knife to trim a little bit of the edge off of the latch part on the lid. It prevents the button from coming all the way out when the lid is closed. It's just a little bit off the end of the triangle that locks into the receiver of the button latching the lid closed. I just uploaded the button that corresponds to these FooGo lids at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1833663 on thingiverse, dated October 17, 2016. SeeMeCNC Rostock MAX prints this design with no rafts and yes supports at a resolution of 0.4mm nozzle, 0.1mm layer, and 25% infill. Put supports under the latch lip and the back of the lid when printed upside down. When printed right side up, you need a ton more support. I used simplify3D for slicing/CAM. I designed this in Fusion 360.
