Thermometer housing (ALDI)
thingiverse
I created a custom housing for my Aldi Thermometer/Hygrometer. Occasionally, water would collect in the thermometer's small holes, causing it to malfunction for an extended period. To resolve this issue, I designed and built a protective enclosure that shields the device from direct rainwater exposure. The interior space measures 100mm x 50mm x 37mm (height, width, depth). For secure attachment, I employed 3M velcro dots; however, there's ample room to drill additional holes if needed. If you'd like to modify the design or add custom features, feel free to use the FUSION360 project file. When building this enclosure, I utilized white PLA filament from Filamentwerk, but if your application involves high temperatures, consider using PETG instead. My housing is installed in a humid area with northern exposure. During printing, I set an infill density of 10% for most areas except the rounded roof, which required only 5%. Printing parameters were optimized using CURA 4.5 at a speed of 70mm/s.
