Thermometer Clip for Digitemp 7-Level Strip
thingiverse
This is a rather specialized topic, but I'll share my experience with it. It involves creating a simple support clip specifically designed for a Digitemp 7-Level LCD color change thermometer self-adhesive strip to fit perfectly on the shelf of an Electriq EDFD04 food dehydrator. This setup provides an additional temperature reading that complements the dehydrator's display and ensures the filament is dried at the right heat level, neither too high nor too low. To create this clip, I printed it face down on my glass build plate, which provided a smooth surface for the adhesive strip to stick to. The print was quite thin, with only two layers of filament, making it springy and flexible enough to bend into place within the shelf grille's holes. It can be used in either orientation - as a stand or a hanger. To use this clip effectively, you'll need the following: Electriq Food Dehydrator EDFD04: This model can hold up to three reels of filament, even wider Ooznest reels, if you remove every other tray's grill. Digitemp 7-Level Thermometer Strip (30°C to 60°C): Other temperature ranges are available for this thermometer strip. Having compared the dehydrator and LCD thermometer readings with a cooking thermometer for meat, I found that they agree well within a range of about 5°C from the bottom tray to the top tray in the dehydrator.
