Thermal protection

Perhaps a naive idea, but perhaps it will be useful for solving practical problems.At the moment, in modern astronautics there is a problem of destruction of thermal protection. Protection is violated due to the detachment of individual elements (tiles). I used my experience gained from designing food industry machines, as well as installing decorative elements of buildings. I received this solution.In my idea, the tiles have a complex shape. The tiles have grooves and protrusions that will create a tight chain of tiles. Each tile holds 3 adjacent tiles and is held by an additional 3 adjacent tiles. The system of protrusions and grooves provides a thermal gap.In my idea, the destruction of the tile (crack), or the destruction of the standard fastening will not lead to immediate detachment of the element.My idea is based on personal design experience in the field of general engineering (not in the space industry). The solution does not use data containing commercial or other secrets. The authorship of the idea belongs to me from the moment of publication*. Use of the solution is permitted only with agreement with the author.
