I can see through the darkness now! As happy owner of a Flir Scout camera, I've always wondered how to use it hands-free at night in the countryside. All of the PT cameras around are truly expensive! Then I stumbled upon this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFKxmfrv4DY and took some inspiration... A modification of the Golight device I developed is quite easy and doesn't reduce its original function in any way. It only adds the Scout's weight on the side, which seems bearable. The Flir camera is firmly attached to the Golight and preserved in its waterproofness. Video out is taken from the hot-shoe (also 5V will be added). If you feel uneasy about the safety of your camera, I've provided two tracks to add two rubber bands. A switch has been added on the light bulb side to keep it off while operating the thermal camera alone and turning it on only when needed.
