Thermador Car Cooler - Main Window Buffer
thingiverse
On many vintage models of swamp coolers, they are designed to fit snugly onto the top of your glass with metal tabs forming a secure boxed area where the cooler would encase the top of your window glass. A complex block-shaped buffer is slipped into this recess and receives your automotive glass. This way the swamp cooler can mount exactly as it did originally, without scratching your windows or resorting to crude methods like inserting cut blocks of foam in there. This one should be printed with flexible filament and is already set up to accept typical 6mm +/- automotive glass. You could theoretically print it in non-flexible material - you would likely have a challenging time installing it into the tab holder, though. There is another "buffer" model that goes with this one to cover the outer metal fingers that do not sit on the glass, protecting your glass from scratching during removal and reinstallation. Just search for "Thermador tang buffer" for that option.
