Theresa Mine (N-Scale)

Theresa Mine (N-Scale)

thingiverse

This is a 3D printable replica of the Theresa Mine. The design incorporates N-Scale model trains with tracks running underneath, allowing you to easily load ore into trains. However, clearances might be a bit tight for some train models. The elevated platform looks great even without any train activity, making it an ideal addition to your layout. Workers used this platform to transport waste rock away from the mine after sorting, and they would climb up onto the support to enter the building. The model's dimensions are 3.82 inches long by 4.5 inches wide by 6 inches tall. I'd love to see a printed, painted version of this model integrated into a model train layout. If you decide to create one, please let me know! This replica is based on the real-life Theresa Mine located near Victor, Colorado. The steel structure was built in 1934 after a fire destroyed most of the above-ground infrastructure. The mine produced an impressive 120,000 ounces of gold, equivalent to approximately $155 million at today's prices. The shaft eventually reached depths of over 1500 feet. You can visit the site and stand next to the structure. When printing this model, simply print it with the base facing down. The overhangs and bridges are small enough to be printed without support material, requiring minimal cleanup. I was able to achieve this on my printer without any issues. Everyone is enjoying this replica, and I'm glad you're excited about it! If you create a model or sell a 3D printed version on eBay, please give me credit for the original design. Don't claim it as your own.
