The SpiderFPVQuad is a highly modified mini quad built around the Syma X1 mini quad's electronics. A unique feature of this quad is its under-slung battery bay, designed to hold 350mAh to 850mAh 1s batteries safely and efficiently. Additionally, the rear battery bay accommodates the popular 808 key-fob lipo, giving pilots more options for power. The quad weighs in at a total of 83 grams with its stock battery. **Warning: Experimental Design Ahead!** This SpiderFPVQuad has been built with a specific flight controller programmed for traditional X-quad designs. A spider-shaped quad can still exhibit unusual and unpredictable flight patterns, even within the limits of the Syma X1 flight controller. By adjusting the transmitter throws correctly, however, pilots can alleviate many of these quirks. Proceed with caution, as proper tuning is key to enjoying this unique build. **Parts List:** - 4x Motor/Arm assemblies from Syma X1 - SYMA-X1-R-V5 Flight Controller - TX5823 Video Transmitter (200mW, 5.8GHz) - 808 Key-Fob Camera Model #16 - FlySky/Turnigy/Eurgle 9x RC transmitter for optimized range and adjustable throws **Design Notes:** To ensure proper orientation of the model on the print bed, rotate it 90 degrees in either direction so that flat sides face upwards. For maximum strength, avoid this step or modify as needed. **Print Specifications:** - Material: ABS plastic - Weight of filament used: 15.3 grams - Model weight (ex-print supports): 10.8 grams - Layer height: 0.20mm - Print time: 1 hour and 51 minutes By carefully planning the part's layer thickness, you can achieve excellent print quality and remove supports more easily, resulting in a sturdy, professional-looking build. To accomplish this, set the supporting raft to 2 layers for sufficient adhesion and use support structures with minimal density whenever possible.
