The Capsule 250 is a lightweight, durable container designed to be waterproof and easy to fabricate from any ordinary 250ml drinking can. With The Capsule, you can keep dry all sorts of items during outdoor activities like hiking, camping, or mountain biking. It's also perfect for festivals to protect your belongings. The Capsule functions as a camping lantern with soft diffused lighting when the cap is printed in transparent material and a small flashlight is added. To use this feature, simply print one of two available cap types and attach it to The Capsule. The design of The Capsule is optimized for printing on an FDM printer without support materials or infill. Two different cap designs are offered: one with a large handle to secure The Capsule to your backpack and another that's flat and compact, saving space in your bag. To create your own The Capsule, start by cutting off the top of a standard 250ml drinking can using a tin opener. Then press the threaded ring onto the opened can by placing it on a table and pressing the can into the ring. Screw the cap onto the threaded ring and seal it with a conventional rubber band or a printable TPU sealing ring. With a rubber band, The Capsule provides protection against splash water, rain, or snow. Using a TPU sealing ring allows you to submerge The Capsule underwater for a period of time, but waterproofness depends on your print settings and the type of sealing used.
