This report delivers an insightful examination and assessment of the present market for smartphone covers, focusing on their effectiveness in satisfying the needs of the target user, specifically the Samsung Galaxy S6. By understanding the constraints faced by the current designs of motorcycle mobile phone covers, our team proposes innovative prototype designs that uniquely address these challenges. Utilizing 3D Modeling Software and CAD Product Design solution, SOLIDWORKS, prototype models are designed for Galaxy S6 to visually represent our proposed features. The cutting-edge features of our basic design include a wrist strap attached directly to the phone cover with a simple buckle, while the luxury design incorporates an additional multi-purpose feature of a detachable wrist strap when not in use. Two prototypes with isometric views are provided to demonstrate the innovative features of our smartphone cover/accessory in this report. Ultimately, with careful selection of materials, suitable dimensions and weight, in terms of material design aspects, the report aims to suggest a more innovative, cost-effective and user-friendly Galaxy S6 smartphone cover alternative for active motorcycle users in the current market. This report also covers various types of properties that our team would be testing on our prototype for the latter section of our project, to deduce its compatibility in meeting the needs of motorcyclists. However, due to certain limitations in information, our project may still be restricted by its design. Overview and Background Introduction The Galaxy S6 phone model, manufactured by Samsung Electronics, was first released in April 2015, achieving 6 million sales within the first month after launch. (Counterpoint Research) Southeast Asia recorded 28 million smartphone shipments in 2016Q2, with 68% of them being phones priced under a certain threshold.
