The Wrist Assist

The Wrist Assist

pinshape

The "Wrist Assist" is my submission to the Within Reach 3D Design Challenge. I created it for individuals who have limited hand function, making everyday tasks like buttoning shirts or turning knobs a real challenge. This device can be easily strapped onto their wrist and comes with interchangeable attachments that cater to different needs. For instance, the "T tip" is perfect for flipping light switches or nudging small objects like faucets. The "Round tip", on the other hand, is ideal for pressing keyboard keys, microwave buttons, or any other task requiring a similar motion. My dream is to see 3D designers collaborate on this project and come up with innovative attachments that meet the needs of users. Long-term goals include developing a pencil grip, stylus holder, fork attachment, and even an alligator clip. All uploaded .stl files are designed for easy printing, and they can be scaled as needed to fit individual wrist sizes. I hope this project inspires someone out there!
