I was thinking that the valve mechanism could be engineered so that it wouldn't budge from its position due to manifold pressure alone. It's preferable for the mechanism to withstand any force exerted by the valve, as long as it stays in place. Once the mechanism reaches its farthest point, the motor power source can be safely shut off. That's why I chose a traditional worm gear setup. Pros: * The mechanism is designed to be irreversible. * A high gear ratio provides substantial torque at the output shaft, albeit at the cost of reduced revolutions per minute. * The mechanism operates silently and efficiently. Cons: * The efficiency coefficient leaves much to be desired. * High friction resistance causes the gears to heat up and necessitate lubrication. * Gears wear out quickly due to excessive stress on their components.
