This little educational toy is a miniature globe, measuring just two inches in diameter. It's accompanied by an unfolding paper featuring illustrations of people from around the world. The tiny globe is made up of 12 intricately cut gores, and it comes packaged in a cardboard box labeled "The Earth and Its Inhabitants." Other copies of this same globe are ironically titled "The Earth and Its Inhabitants," maintaining a charming misspelling that's hard to resist. Carl Bauer, the creator of this miniature marvel, was part of a family business based out of Nuremberg. He crafted these small items with remarkably simple geography in mind, given the confined space he had to work with.
