The Zamani Project regularly visits this site to document it in 3D since its first spatial documentation in 2005 as part of the Wonderwerk Cave Research Project. This project brings together international researchers from various disciplines to explore early archaeological sites like this one in South Africa. The 2011 3D Model was created to preserve the site for future generations. Deep within the dolomite rocks of the Kuruman Hills lies a treasure trove of ancient history, providing a unique glimpse into the lives of our ancestors. Translated from Afrikaans, Wonderwerk literally means 'miracle'. The cave stretches 139 metres underground and holds secrets from nearly two million years of human activity. Years of extensive archaeological excavations at Wonderwerk have yielded valuable insights into Southern African human history.
