BACHELORS Acre is a dog walker's haven where one can find peace.\nHowever, the popular open space in Windsor's heart now boasts royal approval. A majestic statue, titled the Windsor Lady, has been unveiled, showcasing the Queen sitting comfortably surrounded by her beloved corgis.\nThe masterpiece is crafted by renowned sculptress Lydia Karpinska of Maidenhead. It stands proudly on a plinth designed by Jonathan Howe, Royal Borough's landscape officer. This stunning addition has been in place for some time but was officially dedicated last Thursday.\nThe Royal Borough's mayor, Cllr Richard Kellaway, and mayoress Mary-Lou Kellaway joined Lydia Karpinska to unveil the work on January 15th, a day that marked a significant milestone for the community. They were aided by some real live corgis who arrived with their owners, courtesy of an invitation from Lydia Karpinska. http://lydiakarpinska.public-art.uk/ Lydia Karpinska holds a degree in Fine Arts from Central St Martins and is a Member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. She resides and works in Maidenhead.
