The Whoopinator- FPV Quad Camera Mount

Inspired by the "Tiny Whoop" low-cost FPV quadcopter, this mount enables you to swiftly attach an FX798T camera to any drone capable of carrying a 6g payload. This design emerged from our small ladies' FPV drone racing club's efforts to take off in Shenzhen. Our goal is to draw more women and girls into the hobby as a gateway to Making. Flying leads to crashing, and crashing sparks a desire to create improvements by fixing the damage. $100+ FPV drones are impressive, but most of us can't afford to lose a drone worth that much while learning. To make the hobby accessible, we're focusing on stock micro quads and indoor parking lot racing. Our collection of cameras is limited, and our quads are a mixed bag, so I came up with this rig to quickly attach an FX798T to whatever quad we have each day and get racing. The design is based on Oscar Liang's "Whoopee" VTX holder. The print is one solid piece and stronger than the original since many of our races turn into intense dogfights. The total weight of the FX798T, holder, and zip-tie exceeds 6g. We've been attaching it to JJRC H8 Mini quads but it also fits my Syma X5C as a training quad. There are two versions: regular and strong with an extra protective ring. I use the strong version since I tend to crash frequently.
