The White Stripe – Interactive Light
thingiverse
The Modular Beacon shines brightly with 5 distinct components that assemble seamlessly. This adaptable lamp allows you to create an unlimited number of modules as needed, ensuring endless configurations. Careful attention is required when assembling the modules, as magnets secure both their structural integrity and electrical connections. Exercise caution to avoid accidental magnet exposure while the light is on, and never mix up the polarity indicated on the frame (plus and minus poles). To bring The Modular Beacon to life, you'll need a fundamental understanding of electronics and circuitry, particularly regarding LED technology. The assembly process begins with precision cutting by a laser cutter. Gather the following materials: * 3 mm plywood sheets * 16 high-strength magnets (10 x 10 x 1 mm) * 16 iron pieces (17 x 11 x 1 mm) * A 12-volt electronic converter * An on/off switch * One meter of white, cuttable LED strip lighting * Thin paper Proceed by cutting the frame outlines with a laser cutter, followed by beveling 45° or 60° edges to ensure a smooth finish. Next, apply your preferred color using paint and adhere thin paper to the interior frames. Mount magnets and iron pieces to the exterior surfaces while paying attention to polarity. The LED stripe assembly involves cutting and gluing the components together before connecting the LEDs to the magnetic structure. Once complete, attach the modules together with adhesives, taking care not to obstruct the electrical connections.
