**Table Of Contents:** - Goal - History - Notes - Updates - Sources - Remarks **Goal:** To create an accurate replication of the White House. I chose to replicate the White House because it's a significant building that people around the world can relate to. Initially, I considered replicating the Roman Coliseum but decided on the White House instead due to its proximity to D.C. and my desire to visit the monuments this summer. **Notes:** 1. The attached Blender file is not printable; it's intended for editing purposes only. 2. If you'd like me to correct any errors, please leave a comment or send a private message. 3. The scale of the Blender file is 1:1, representing actual feet measurements. 4. A detailed description of each file can be found under "Instructions." 5. The first image shows three main bodies with the Lego set in the background. 6. Doorways are hollowed out to allow a glimpse into adjacent rooms. **History:** In 1791, George Washington chose the site for the White House in what is now the District of Columbia. As the foundation was laid, architects competed to design the final structure. The construction continued until 1812 when the British set fire to the White House during the War of 1812. The destruction led to various improvements, including the addition of south and north porticos. In 1902, President Theodore Roosevelt initiated a major renovation, relocating presidential offices to the newly constructed West Wing. **Update 8/8/2015:** I printed the WHRoof using ABS settings similar to the other pieces. Four pictures showcasing all three layers were uploaded, with the main image featuring the Lego set in the background. The print quality is subpar due to issues with my Solidoodle 3 printer. **Update 8/7/2015:** I printed the WHInternalFirst piece using ABS settings similar to the second floor but with improved results. In the picture showing both stories, it's evident that the second floor lacks windows; I've since corrected this error and reuploaded the file. **Update 8/6/2015:** I uploaded an image of the second-floor interior printed at .2mm with 8% infill in HIPS. The file was then scaled twice using Repetier Host. Additionally, I uploaded a revised version of WHinternalSecondV2 with reduced closet printing. **Update 8/5/2015:** To address frequent requests for updates, I'll now post regular messages. Today's uploaded file is printable and includes two parts: the exterior shell and interior recreation using https://goo.gl/LhRtP0. None of the pieces require support; I will begin printing them tomorrow. **Update 7/17/2015:** I've made significant progress on the file, finishing the exterior of the White House (please report any errors) and beginning work on the interior of the first floor. **Sources:** Photos taken by friends A Lego set (http://shop.lego.com/en-US/White-House-21006) The virtual tour of the White House (https://goo.gl/LhRtP0) Images from http://www.whitehousemuseum.org White House History: https://www.whitehouse.gov/about/inside-white-house **Remarks:** Regardless of the challenge's outcome, it was a pleasure participating and meeting deadlines. I enjoyed designing and writing the text for this page.
