I'm currently printing and trying the last prototypes.</p> <p>Be aware that no print has been made with this head/mount combo yet</p> <p>Also, the nozzles end up significantly higher on the Z axis (approx 15mm), you may need to lower you Z axis endstop.</p> <h3>Fan support</h3> <p>This carriage includes an integrated mount for a radial fan at the back, used as a layer fan through the inbuilt air duct.</p> <p>Unlike many other mounts, it uses a radial fan ("blower" type) instead of the classic 40mm fan, allowing much better cooling though significantly increased air pressure</p> <p>No more dangling fans on the sides of the carriage, or stacked fans on top of the radiator, your printer's head remains clean and compact.</p> <p>This designs also lets the radiator's front and top clear, allowing you to easily mount additional equipement (eg: bed sensors)</p> <h3>Head mounting</h3> <p>The radiators is mounted from the back for increased stability, and easy access to the bowden tubes pre-tensionners</p> <p>Multiple mount block of varying thickness are included to fit your specific needs, all equipped with eyelets for strain relief and guidance of the head's cables</p> <h3>Extras</h3> <p>The carriage also sports a drag-chain slot (for prusa i3 variants like BQ Hephestos)</p> <p>A "No drag-chain" version is also available.</p> <p>The carriage also includes a customizable x-axis endstop "finger" to suit your printer"s specific positionning of the switch</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>BQ Hephestos Prusa i3</p> <p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>No</p></div> <p><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>No</p> <p class="detail-setting resolution"><strong>Resolution: </strong> <div><p>0.2</p></div> <p><strong>Infill:</strong></p> <p>40</p> <p><br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong></p> </p><div><p>Should print well without supports, on it's side.<br/> Add "supports touching buidplate" if needed, but do not print supports inside the air-duct <p>Support walls are included in the files for those few spots where they are necessary</p> <p>A version without support walls is also available, so that if you have an advanced slicer, you can add your own.</p> <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p>Cut and clean supports on the back of the carriage</p> <h3>Sources</h3> <p>This design ideas hatched from the two designs credited in "remixed from" section.</p> <p>Thanks to the authors for their inspiration.</p> </p></div></p></p> Category: 3D Printer Parts
