The Western High Gate of Medinet Habu is situated on the west bank of the Nile River, within Luxor, Egypt. As one of two fortified gates encircling the extensive temple complex of Medinet Habu, it plays a significant role in the great girdle wall that surrounds this sacred site. Initial investigations and documentation were conducted by Uvo Hölscher during the 1931-32 campaign of the University of Chicago's Oriental Institute, marking the beginning of thorough exploration of the area. This comprehensive 3D model was undertaken as part of the 2015-16 Epigraphic Survey Project (Chicago House) and serves as a continuation of Hölscher's explorations. By providing an accurate representation of the site before further excavations, it offers invaluable insights into the structure and layout of the Western High Gate of Medinet Habu. Spanning approximately one hectare, this remarkable gate stands as a testament to ancient Egyptian architecture and engineering prowess. Built with Agisoft Photoscan, this low-poly render brings the Western High Gate of Medinet Habu to life in stunning detail. The Epigraphic Survey Project continues to push the boundaries of archaeological documentation, providing an unparalleled glimpse into the history and culture of Luxor's richly textured past.
