It could be argued that they embody an unavoidable destiny of all glass decorations - featuring a fragmented surface based on a Voronoi tessellation. Alternatively, they simply demonstrate excessive digital intricacy for its own sake. Either way, they exude an undeniable air of sophistication. Presenting here is a collection of seven ornaments, each varying in size, intricacy, and intensity of disintegration. The optimal method to display them is by pairing one with a traditional ornament topper, or as demonstrated here, using my custom-designed 3D printed mount. Ornament numbering (1-7) roughly correlates with the level of difficulty involved in printing each model. Regardless, achieving a smooth first layer and utilizing a thick brim are crucial factors for success. Some ornaments boast exceptionally aggressive overhangs, necessitating precise control over cooling and print temperatures. The parts are represented as solid objects because I obtained superior results by allowing the slicer to create the surface texture. You can also print them without a bottom in Cura and obtain a print with a hole for hanging, but I found it easier and more effective to print them with uniform 2mm walls all around, 0% infill, and then drill out the hole afterwards.
