The "VIDIOT" computer from The Shins' "Dead Alive" video
thingiverse
I received an email from Jon Sortland, drummer for The Shins and a maker himself, mid-2016. He asked me to design props for a music video for their upcoming album, which was still under wraps since the band hadn't released any new material in years. They wanted a generic 90s PC that matched my mini computers. I couldn't believe it - I'm a huge fan of The Shins! I got to send the finished computer directly to the frontman's home in Portland. To showcase your love for The Shins, just print one out and place it next to your record player. Check out the computer in action at 2:48 minutes into this video - https://youtu.be/IzfQCsDTORM?t=2m48s . I also built a mini TV that appears in the video, which might get posted later. The build was relatively simple: just print everything, paint it light grey, and apply some stickers.
