The Unified X-Gear

Revamping My X-Gear Fidget Widget This updated version of my X-Gear Fidget gadget aimed to enhance its performance by adding more gears, emphasizing that one can never have too many. Let's break it down from the top. The initial level consists of three co-dependent gears driven by turning the central gear with a 2.5:1 ratio. I made adjustments to the gear teeth and diameters for 3D printing, hoping for accurate spacing. The two outer gears connect the assembly, driving the larger X-shaped gears with internal teeth and attaching to the handle/base. The middle layer features the unique X-Gear design, showcasing unconventional gear shapes. Lastly, the base and handle were designed minimalistically in a spacecraft shape, embossed with an 'X' symbolizing the entire concept. Incorporating innovation, I added a touch at the bottom as a tribute to the challenge. The inspiration for this design came from conversations about 3D printing possibilities with non-technical individuals like my parents, leading me to incorporate a more intricate gearing system and redesign from previous submissions. If you like the design, please show support for my creations in this competition. Thank you! Darren Hartenstine
