The Ultrasonic Tombstone
thingiverse
This is a tombstone with eyeholes that fit snugly around an ultrasonic sensor. I utilized this setup with my pi-top [3] raspberry pi laptop to create a miniature Halloween display for my desk. I connected the ultrasonic sensor directly to the pi-top [3] PROTO+ board, then printed the tombstone on a Makerbot Replicator+. After completing the tombstone, I inserted it into the eyeholes and propped it up on my desk. I revised some python code that I obtained from one of the pi-top Further challenges (https://further.pi-top.com/projects/5d83982b506a26cd46b81929/) and adapted it to make the ultrasonic sensor trigger a string of red LEDs embedded in the eyes of a 3D printed jack-o-lantern. The primary objective of this project was to showcase how you can extend your pi-top Inventor's Kit projects by incorporating 3D printed components.
