The Ultimate Spool Holder Dry Box (54qt)

I started with an old fashioned style of dry box with a PVC pipe running through all the filament spools, and that performed for a while, but I grew tired of having to remove multiple spools to access a particular filament roll. So I scoured thingiverse and stumbled upon ritchrock's awesome TUSH dry box design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2929701. While his is ready for the smaller volume Sterilite containers, I have a 54qt box https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sterilite-54-Qt-Gasket-Storage-Box-19344304/205538291?mtc=SEM-B-F_D59-G-D59-23_7_ORGANIZATION-Multi-NA-NA-DSA-NA-NA-NE_DSA_Storage&cm_mmc=SEM-B-F_D59-G-D59-23_7_ORGANIZATION-Multi-NA-NA-DSA-NA-NA-NE_DSA_Storage-71700000065572255-58700005801357643-39700053041869006&gclid=Cj0KCQjwp4j6BRCRARIsAGq4yMGrebkMi0D3tHUppogS4n7TU4tsa8ZVn_T61f9xOYEuuw-s-1CV5CEaAhskEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds. Since that design only had the smaller rod holder design suited for the smaller container, I used glocktoter's rod holder design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4138380 to hold 1/4" steel round rods found at my local hardware store https://www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-1-4-in-dia-x-4-ft-L-Plain-Cold-Rolled-Steel-Weldable-Solid-Round-Rod/3059265 cut to 17.5" in length. I printed this piece with supports as bridging is rather long, and I didn't want to take a chance of it failing. I used a customizable cylinder creater from [painteddigital](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2799861) to create an adapter for the round rods to fit the larger diameter rod holders. I used Br8Knitoff's snap design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4545381 for the roller sides to hold the bearings in place, as they didn't have to be glued. I also printed spacers to suit the width of the filament spools I already have (I use the eSUN spools as they have cutouts in the plastic which allow for better drying of the plastic in a dehydrator). After all is done, the filament spools are easily removed individually, and they roll very smoothly on standard 608 bearings https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07216D1SZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. With this design, it will hold 5 spools, and you will only need 20 bearings to complete it. Thank you to the individuals who have designed the key components already. Happy Printing!
